New Delhi, India, August 6, 2026: The Boxing Federation of India described it as “a proud moment for Indian Boxing” when their boxers were rewarded for their remarkable showing at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Indian boxing contingent that competed at the Commonwealth Games 2026 had the honour of meeting the Hon'ble Shri Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
“The Hon'ble Minister appreciated the team's efforts and spirit at CWG 2026 and encouraged them for upcoming international competitions,” the federation posted.
India won seven gold medals and three silver medals on the same day in Glasgow – an unprecedented achievement in the history of boxing at the Commonwealth Games.
This boxing bonanza propelled India into fourth place in the overall medal standings with 13 gold medals, 17 silver and nine bronze medals for a total of 39 medals.
