Ramallah, Palestine, August 6, 2026: The Palestinian American Sports Federation visited Houston, Texas, in response to an invitation from the 67th Ramallah Federation Conference in the United States to participate in its activities.
The field trip comes within the framework of the Palestine Olympic Committee’s vision to enhance communication with Palestinian athletes in the diaspora, and in the implementation of its mission to expand the base of national sport participation.
This initiative comes as part of a programme of a series of tours to several American cities, with the aim of direct communication with national communities and introducing the Palestine Olympic Committee and the role of the Palestinian American Sports Federation in attracting and supporting Palestinian sports talent.
The visit was headed by Ms. Amani Al-Ghoul, member of the Executive Office of the Palestine Olympic Committee, and Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Ghoul, team manager and vice-president of the Palestinian Baseball Federation.
Amani Al-Ghoul emphasised that this field trip constituted an important opportunity to build strong bridges between the homeland and the diaspora, and to enhance mutual trust with the community.
She pointed out that the doors to participate in Palestinian national teams were open to all Palestinians based on competence and merit.
Al-Ghoul said: “We work in line with the charter of the Palestine Olympic Committee and based on the vision and message of its president Major General Jibril Rajoub.
"This affirms that the sons and daughters of Palestine in the diaspora constitute an authentic extension of the Palestinian sports movement, and that investing in their energies and experiences strengthens the national teams and embodies the unity of the Palestinian people and their national identity.”
Lilian Nasra, a player on the national football team, spoke about her experience representing Palestine, stressing that the equal opportunities provided by the Palestine NOC allowed her to represent her country internationally.
