Kathmandu, Nepal, August 5, 2026: Bouddha International School, in collaboration with the Nepal Olympic Committee, held an anti-doping awareness session for its students last week.
It was the first school in Nepal to launch an anti-doping awareness programme in partnership with the NOC.
The session was conducted by Dr. Gyanendra Bikram Shah, member of the NOC Medical Commission and board member of the South Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (SARADO).
Dr. Shah educated students on the importance of clean and ethical sports, fair play and the consequences of using prohibited substances and methods in sports. A total of 50 student athletes attended the programme.
The session was also attended by NOC Executive Secretary Sujan Lal Shrestha, whose presence underscored the importance of promoting anti-doping education among young athletes and strengthening the culture of clean sport in Nepal.
The landmark initiative reflects the school’s commitment to holistic sports education and athlete development, while setting a new standard for school-level collaboration with the NOC in promoting integrity and fair play in sport.
