Glasgow, Scotland, August 4, 2026: Asian Boxing is celebrating the bronze medal success of Pakistan’s Fatima Zahra in women’s boxing at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
“Pakistan’s Fatima Zahra has written a new chapter in the nation’s boxing history by becoming the first Pakistani woman to secure a boxing medal at the Commonwealth Games,” Asian Boxing posted.
“The landmark achievement marks a significant milestone for women’s boxing in Pakistan and highlights the continued growth of the sport across the country. Zahra’s historic performance has earned widespread recognition, inspiring a new generation of female athletes to pursue boxing at the highest level.”
The post continued: “Her achievement represents more than a personal success. It is a breakthrough moment for Pakistani women’s sport, demonstrating the increasing opportunities for female boxers to compete and succeed on the international stage.
“As Pakistan continues to invest in developing its boxing program, Fatima Zahra’s medal will stand as a defining moment in the country’s sporting history and a source of inspiration for future champions.”
Fatima won the women’s 60kg title at Glasgow – Pakistan’s only medal of the CWG.
She is an eight-time national champion in Pakistan and is inspired by India’s women’s boxing icon Mary Kom.
