Hong Kong, China, July 30, 2026: The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China reports that the 2026 Olympism Camp officially opened on July 29 in Nansha, Guangzhou.
A total of 150 secondary school students and young athletes from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau came together for a three-day camp themed “United by Heritage, Integrated in the Greater Bay Area” to jointly explore the values of Olympism.
The camp is co-organized by the Chinese Olympic Academy under the Chinese Olympic Committee, the Hong Kong, China Olympic Academy under the SF&OC, the Guangdong Provincial Sports Federation and the Federation of Macau-China Sports General Associations. The project receives funding support from the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Olympic Solidarity.
This year marks the second consecutive year that the camp has been held in Nansha, further deepening youth sports exchange among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau and promoting the coordinated sports development in the Greater Bay Area.
Mr. Kenneth Fok, SF&OC Vice-President and Chairperson of the Hong Kong, China Olympic Academy, said: “The National 15th Five-Year Plan for building a leading sports nation has set a clear direction for youth sports development.
“This camp is a concrete step in responding positively to the national policies and advancing the implementation of the Five-Year Plan.
“As Hong Kong approaches the 30th anniversary of its return to the motherland, HKCOA will fully leverage the advantages of ‘one country, two systems’, seize the opportunities arising from national development, deepen sports talent exchanges and jointly build a vibrant platform for Olympic education.”
Mr. Zhang Jian, Executive Deputy President of the Chinese Olympic Academy and President of Beijing Sport University, provided a welcome address.
This year’s camp has also invited Professor Wang Yingchun, Dean of the School of Psychology of Beijing Sport University, and Olympic figure skating gold medallist Sui Wenjing to share their experiences.
