Singapore, July 25, 2026: Singapore are pinning their hopes on exciting young golfer Chen Xingtong at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya from September 19 to October 4.
Singapore Sports School reports in their “Friday Feature” that Chen, 15, has found her passion in golf after dabbling with table tennis and swimming earlier in her life.
“From making waves in the pool to making history on the fairways, Chen Xingtong is teeing herself up for greatness,” Singapore Sports School says.
“At just 15 years old, the golfer made history as the youngest-ever Singapore Open Amateur Champion in 2024 with a dominant wire-to-wire victory and, in 2025, she became the first Singaporean to reach the United States Girls’ Junior Championship final.
“This year, the spexPotential and Singapore Olympic Foundation-Peter Lim Scholarship recipient is ready to fly the Singapore flag high at the upcoming Asian Games.
“Keep shining and swinging high, Xingtong! We couldn’t be prouder, and we’re all rooting for you!”
Chen, who was promoted from the junior team to the national squad in 2024, said: “It is an honour to represent Singapore at the Asian Games.
“I think everyone will aim for a medal. It is a tough field, and I look forward to learning from my pro teammates and getting better with every tournament.”
Currently a Year 6 student/athlete in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, the talented teen hopes to eventually pursue golf and academics in the US collegiate system.
