Kuwait City, Kuwait, July 23, 2026: The Olympic Council of Asia has selected eight athletes for scholarship support under the Athletes Master’s Degree Scholarship Programme at Kookmin University in Korea.
In a letter to the OCA Graduate School of Sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) of Kookmin University, OCA Director General Husain Al Musallam says the OCA is pleased to recommend the following eight candidates for scholarship support under the Athletes Master’s Degree Scholarship Programme at Kookmin University:
1 - Thinley Lhendup (Male) Bhutan, Athletics
2 - Mohammad Amer (Male) Jordan, Athletics/3x3 Basketball
3 – Sin Rong Lin (OLY) (Female) Chinese Taipei, Bobsleigh/Luge
4 - Hanieh Ahmadi (Female) Iran, Kurash
5 Park Hee-jin (OLY) (Female) Republic of Korea, Skiing and Snowboarding
6 – Hong Jun-pyo (Male) Republic of Korea, Curling
7 - Latifa Y. Almaazmi (OLY) (Female) United Arab Emirates, Shooting
8 - Shoaib Mohammed Issa Al-Zedjali (Male) Oman, Football
Captain Husain writes: “The final group consists of four female and four male candidates, ensuring equal gender representation in line with the gender equality principles promoted by OCA and the Olympic Movement.
“The above candidates have been reviewed in line with the programme’s objective of supporting Asian athletes in pursuing postgraduate education and developing their future careers in sport governance, policy, sustainability and leadership.
“OCA believes that their sporting experience and commitment to the Olympic Movement will enable them to benefit fully from this scholarship opportunity and contribute meaningfully to the development of sport in their respective countries and across Asia.”
Captain Husain thanked Kookmin University for their continued cooperation and support in providing this valuable educational and scholarship opportunity for Asian athletes.
