Nagoya, Japan, July 22, 2026: Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games mascot Honohon tries out wushu in the latest episode of the “growth story”.
The Chinese martial art is always an attractive watch at a multi-sport games with its flashing colours, high-speed action and cultural heritage, as well as the slick operation and management of the organisers and officials.
“Graceful, flowing movements combined with speed and power,” Honohon says of the Chinese martial art.
“Focusing on every movement, Honohon gives Taolu a try.”
Taolu refers to the choreographed, performance-based routines in wushu that simulate combat against an imaginary opponent. These routines feature a continuously connected set of predetermined techniques, including stances, kicks, jumps and weapon use.
“Smooth yet powerful - it's much more challenging than it looks,” Honohon adds.
“We can't wait to experience the spectacular performances of the world's top wushu athletes live at the venue!”
The 20th Asian Games will run from September 19 to October 4.
Honohon has tackled 13 sports on the programme so far.
