Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, July 17, 2026: The final leg of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games Fun Run series took place at Sunway City in Kuala Lumpur on Friday, July 17.

The event attracted 1,000 participants and was flagged off by the President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia, Dr. Norza Zakaria, who is also OCA Vice President for the South East Asia zone.

This took the total number of runners in the 23 Asian Games Fun Run series to 40,000 since the first event for Aichi-Nagoya was held in April 2025.

The fun run in Malaysia was supported by National Olympic Committees in South East Asia following their attendance at the SEA Games Federation meetings on July 16-17 to discuss preparations for the SEA Games Malaysia 2027.

The fun run in Malaysia brought an end to the series ahead of the 20th Asian Games, which will take place in Aichi-Nagoya from September 19 to October 4.

A total of 23 NOCs across all five OCA zones hosted the fun run: Bhutan, Tajikistan, Brunei Darussalam, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Maldives, Iran, Oman, Qatar, Nepal, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, India, Hong Kong-China and Malaysia.

The fun run was one of three elements in the OCA's Asian Games for All campaign along with the Children's Art Competition and Youth Reporter Programme.
