Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, July 16, 2026: The OCA’s Asian Games Fun Run series for Aichi-Nagoya 2026 will come to a conclusion on Friday, July 17 with the final event being hosted by the Olympic Council of Malaysia.
The OCA, OCM and Asian Games organising committee AINAGOC held a joint press conference on Thursday to promote the final fun run in the build-up to the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya from September 19 to October 4.
The OCA’s Director of Media and Broadcast, Mr. Jeans Zhou Jian, said the Asian Games Fun Run for Aichi-Nagoya had traversed the continent during the past two years.
“In that time, the Asian Games Fun Run has travelled to 23 countries and regions in Asia’s five zones and tens of thousands of people, media, athletes, coaches and officials from all sectors of society have taken part,” he said.
“Tomorrow’s fun run will serve as the final leg of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Fun Run series and this is a significant milestone for the OCA and AINAGOC as the Games preparations enter their final stage.”
The Malaysia leg of the fun run will be held at Sunway City in Kuala Lumpur – an integrated resort and conference centre and an official partner of the OCM.
“To celebrate this important moment, the OCA and OCM are working together to make the final fun run a long-lasting memory for all participants,” added Mr. Zhou.
“Each participant will be awarded a 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Fun Run medal on completion of the course.”
The Director of OCA Family Relations and Development Programmes, Mr. Wissam Trkmani, said the Asian Games was not only about winning medals in the sports competitions but also about learning and sharing Asian Games culture, history and Olympic values.
“That is why the fun run is a very important part of the OCA’s ‘Asian Games for All’ campaign in order for the OCA to promote the Asian Games across the Asian continent,” he said.
AINAGOC was represented at the press conference by Ms. Manami Okumura, Deputy Director from the PR department, who stressed that Nagoya city, Aichi prefecture and the other co-hosting cities in Japan were ready to welcome the 20th Asian Games in a little over two months’ time.
“We are doing everything we can to offer all participants the best service during their visit to Nagoya, Japan,” she said.
OCM Secretary General Mr. Mohd Nasir Ali said this final leg of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games Fun Run held special significance as, along with OCM CEO Fong Wan Hor, he had attended the first event of the series in Thimphu, Bhutan in April 2025.
“We are honored to host the final leg of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Fun Run tomorrow (Friday). There will be a thousand people taking part and we are ready to offer everyone the best Asian Games Fun Run experience,” he said.
