Colombo, Sri Lanka, July 16, 2026: It was a proud moment for Sri Lanka as the National Olympic Committee was among the NOCs representing Asia at the 9th IWG Global Summit on Women and Sport 2026 in Birmingham, England.
Ms. Niloo Jayatilake, Vice President of Sri Lanka NOC and OCA Executive Board member, had the honour of presenting the "Sri Lanka Story" during the Continental session.
It highlighted Sri Lanka’s progress and commitment towards gender equity, women’s leadership and empowerment through sport.
Together with Ms. Hiruni Munasinghe, IOC certified safeguarding officer, Sri Lanka contributed to the global conversation driving meaningful change for women and girls in sport.
