His address was made in the presence of HRH Princess Aya bint Faisal, President of the Jordan Volleyball Federation and President of the Volleyball Foundation, and the Secretary General of the Jordan Olympic Committee, Rana Al-Saeed.

HRH Prince Faisal, who serves as Chairman of the IOC Working Group for the Protection of Athletes, made a speech underlining the importance of providing safe sporting environments for women and girls emphasising the importance of achieving gender equality and inclusive sport.

He also reviewed the efforts of the Jordan Olympic Committee in promoting women’s participation. He revealed the number of Jordanian female athletes participating in international championships had risen by more than 40 percent since 2022 and the number of medal winners had increased by more than 80 percent, alongside an increase in female coaches and referees.

In closing, Prince Faisal emphasised that the future of women’s sport will not be determined by investments or numbers of entries alone but by the confidence that is built by providing safe and inclusive sporting environments, which ensures every woman and girl the opportunity to participate, succeed, and thrive.
