Sri Lanka NOC sends message from top cricketer

Colombo, Sri Lanka, May 25, 2020: The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka and Rotary International have teamed up to send a message to the country in the fight to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The message comes from the former Sri Lanka cricket captain Angelo Mathews.

“Do your part by staying at home,” he writes. “Washing hands, wearing a mask and practicing social distancing when in public places.”

The 32-year-old all-rounder also urges the public to call an emergency number rather than going to a hospital where the disease could spread quickly.

“Let’s fight COVID-19 together!” he concludes.

National Olympic Committees around Asia have joined campaigns or launched their own social media platforms to increase the awareness and the precautions required to stay safe and prevent the spread of the pandemic.
