Kathmandu, Nepal, July 8, 2026: The OCA/UWW Asian Wrestling Youth Camp and Course for Coaches will give young Nepali athletes the chance to showcase their country on the international stage, according to Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha.
The camp got underway in Guangzhou, China on Wednesday, July 8, and the Nepal Wrestling Association has sent a full quota of delegates – Ms. Manisha Singh (coach) and athletes Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav and Ms. Rashmi Thada.
The NOC President and Secretary General Rajiv Shrestha held a farewell ceremony for the delegation on July 3 at the NOC Building in Satdobato, Lalitpur. They extended their best wishes to the participants, urging them to maintain discipline and exemplary conduct as representatives of Nepal on the international stage.
“NOC President Shrestha gave importance to professionalism and sportsmanship, encouraging the athletes and coach to make the nation proud through their performance and behavior during the camp,” Nepal Olympic Committee posted on social media.
The camp, organised by the OCA and United World Wrestling, will run until Wednesday, July 15.
