AIMAG athletes can dream big in Boulevard Riyadh City

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, July 7, 2026: Athletes will be able to write their own fairytale at the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Riyadh in December.

The 18 sports are all taking place at Boulevard Riyadh City, which has a Disneyland-like feel with entertainment centres, shops, restaurants, kiosks, exhibition halls and even a cable car travelling over the vast complex.

It will be the perfect setting for the 3,000 athletes to deliver a golden performance during the 6th AIMAG, which will take place from December 13-21, 2026.

Chefs de Mission attending the CDM Seminar in Riyadh were taken to the Boulevard on the second leg of the venue tour on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 7.

“What I really liked about it is that all the sports will be in the same place, meaning all the athletes will be together in this one venue,” said Uuganbayar Dulguunbayar, Sports and Programme Specialist from the Mongolian National Olympic Committee.

“With all the competition venues in seven arenas at the Boulevard, it will be easy to handle our team. The teams do not have to worry, so this is good for the athletes.”

The 18 sports will be held in one of seven arenas in the Boulevard, making it convenient for delegations and spectators alike.

The first stage of the venue tour on Tuesday afternoon was the Princess Nourah University – a 20km journey from the Boulevard which took around 45 minutes.

The university will serve as the Athletes’ Village, accommodating around 3,000 athletes and 1,500 team officials in three main buildings.

All the training venues, with the exception of padel, will be in the Students Sports Recreation Centre of the university; padel players will train at the competition venue in the Boulevard Arena 7.

The Princess Nourah University is a huge complex covering 1 million sq meters. Over 33,000 students – all female – attend the university and are educated by over 3,700 academic staff.

Three buildings will be enough to handle the 6th AIMAG, and delegates were shown the transport mall, residential zone, the office for each NOC, one-bed rooms for the Chef de Mission and three-bed rooms for athletes, as well as the transport mall and the location of the 5,000 sq meter dining hall, which will have a capacity of 1,200 people.

The Village Plaza will host the team welcome ceremony over two days, December 9 and 10, and the ceremonies will be held for each of the five zones in the OCA rather than for individual NOCs.

The CDM Seminar will continue on Wednesday with more presentations from organising committee RAIMAGOC.
