OCA Athletes' Committee meets ahead of Asian Games

Kuwait City, Kuwait, July 4, 2026: The OCA Athletes' Committee met online on Friday, July 3 under the chairmanship of Ms. Ding Ning to review key preparations ahead of the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.

Among the main topics discussed were the arrangements for the upcoming OCA Athletes' Committee elections during the Games. The Manager of the OCA Athletes' Department, Mr. Jamyang Namgyal, briefed the committee on the voting operations, including the designated polling venues and alternative voting options for athletes who will not be accommodated in Nagoya. 

The committee also reviewed initiatives aimed at maximizing athlete participation through accessible voting methods and awareness campaigns during the Games.

Members were further informed that an in-person OCA Athletes' Committee meeting will take place on October 3 following the conclusion of the elections. The meeting will provide an opportunity to welcome the newly elected members and begin planning the committee's priorities and activities for the 2026-2030 term.

The meeting concluded with members reaffirming their commitment to representing the voices of athletes across Asia and working collectively to strengthen athlete engagement and governance within the Olympic Movement. 

The committee also reiterated its commitment to ensuring a successful and inclusive election process during the Asian Games, which will run from September 19 to October 4.
