Dushanbe, Tajikistan, July 2, 2026: Olympic champion Dilshod Nazarov was the centrepiece of Olympic Day 2026 celebrations held by the Tajikistan National Olympic Committee.
A morning exercise and a ceremony entitled "Olympic Morning in the Light of National Unity with Dilshod Nazarov" was held at Navruz Park in the capital Dushanbe on June 20.
Nazarov created history by winning Tajikistan’s first-ever Olympic gold medal, in the men’s hammer throw at Rio 2016.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sport and the Tajikistan NOC, along with athletes and members of the public.
The goal of the event was to promote a healthy lifestyle, engage the public in sports and develop the Olympic movement.
