Manila, Philippines, July 2, 2026: Philippines sports and Olympic official Karen Tanchanco-Caballero has thanked the OCA for their support as she prepares to attend the IWG Global Summit on Women and Sport in the United Kingdom.
The summit will take place in Birmingham from July 9-11 and is regarded as the foremost gathering on gender equality in the world.
“Honored to represent the Philippines at the IWG Global Summit 2026 in the United Kingdom —the Davos of Women in Sport,” she said, referring to the annual World Economic Forum in Davos in the Swiss Alps.
“I look forward to learning from global best practices, sharing the Philippine experience and bringing home ideas that will help advance gender equity, leadership, participation and safe sport in our country.
“My heartfelt gratitude to the POC - Philippine Olympic Committee - Olympic.PH, the Philippine Sports Commission and the Olympic Council of Asia for their trust and support.”
Karen concluded: “Proud to carry the Philippine flag and Pilipinas Sepaktakraw with gratitude, purpose and a commitment to helping create more opportunities for women and girls in sport. For God and country.”
The IWG Global Summit 2026 will bring together leaders, practitioners, researchers and changemakers from across the world to explore what it will take to move Beyond the Breakthrough for women and girls in sport and physical activity.
Beyond the Breakthrough is about lasting progress, not isolated success stories. It is about how proven ideas, policies and programmes are embedded, adapted and sustained across different contexts, creating shifts that cannot be turned back.
Across three dynamic days from July 9-11, the summit will bring together global voices from sport, business, policy and education to share what works, challenge thinking and explore practical solutions across leadership, participation, investment, innovation and visibility in sport.
