Afghanistan NOC funds wrestling and boxing technical coaching course

Astana, Kazakhstan, July 1, 2026: Funded by the Afghan National Olympic Committee, 19 national coaches of wrestling and boxing participated in a first-level international training course held in Astana, capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This training program was held from June 17-21, 2026 in the framework of the cooperation agreement between the National Olympic Committees of Afghanistan and Kazakhstan in which 11 wrestling coaches and 8 boxing coaches of Afghanistan were present.

During the course, participants were trained by masters and experts introduced by the World Wrestling and Boxing Federations and who were acquainted with the latest training methods, technical principles and international coaching standards.

The NOC of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the World Wrestling and Boxing Federations also provided comprehensive cooperation and support to the foundation of existing cooperation agreements in the field of editing and holding this training program.

“The National Olympic Committee of Afghanistan considers holding such programs important to improve the technical capacities of coaches, develop Olympic sports and provide training opportunities for the technical staff of the country, and emphasizes continuing constructive cooperation with international sports institutions,” Wali Rahimi, President of Afghanistan NOC, posted on social media.
