Kuwait City, Kuwait, June 30, 2026: The OCA is reminding all athletes heading for the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan this September on the importance of TUE – Therapeutic Use Exemption.
In a social media campaign, the OCA asks: “Athletes, are you on medication and unsure what to do?
“If you need a medication that contains a banned substance for a legitimate health reason, you can apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE).
“A TUE allows athletes to receive necessary treatment while continuing to compete clean. Your health matters, and so does fair play.”
The OCA adds: “Before applying, consult your National Anti-Doping Organization or International Federation. Stay safe. Stay informed. Clean Sport Starts with Me.”
The Southeast Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (SEARADO) fully supports the OCA initiative over TUE.
“Medication + Competition = TUE check!” SEARADO posted.
“The OCA is reminding all athletes heading to Aichi-Nagoya 2026: if you need a banned substance for a legitimate health condition, apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption. It protects your health and keeps the playing field fair.
“We know you train hard and sacrifice a lot so don't let a paperwork gap trip you up. Reach out to your National Anti-Doping Organization or International Federation.
“From all of us at SEARADO, we believe in you. Go chase those dreams, and know we're cheering every step of the way!”
