OCA Director says judges training course will develop wushu throughout Asia

Haikou, China, June 30, 2026: OCA Director Wissam Trkmani believes the ongoing wushu judges training and certification course in Haikou, Hainan Province will contribute to the growth and development of the sport across the continent.

 

The course has attracted 166 participants from 39 countries and regions and is designed to provide top-class international judges for the wushu competition at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan from September 19 to October 4.

 

It has been organised by the International Wushu Federation, the Wushu Federation of Asia and the OCA in a landmark collaboration.

 

“As we look ahead to the 20th Asian Games, the role of qualified and professional judges is essential in ensuring fairness, integrity and excellence in competition,” said Mr. Trkmani, OCA Director for NOC Relations and Development.

 

“This course provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen technical knowledge, unify judging standards and prepare officials for the highest level of competition in Asia.

 

“The OCA is proud to support this initiative, which contributes to the continued growth and development of wushu across our continent.”

 

The 2026 International Wushu Judges Training and Certification Course and the Wushu Judges Training Course for the 20th Asian Games opened in Haikou on Monday, June 29.

 

“I would like to express our sincere appreciation to the International Wushu Federation, the Wushu Federation of Asia and the Chinese Wushu Association for their excellent cooperation and dedication in organizing this important programme,” he concluded.
