Three-time Olympian Vitiny joins Olympic Day athletes’ forum in Cambodia

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, June 29, 2026: Cambodia’s three-time Olympic swimmer Vitiny Hemthon was the star attraction at the National Athletes Forum on Sunday, June 28.

 

The forum was held as part of the Olympic Day celebrations, with hundreds of schoolchildren joining the fun at the Morodok Techo National Stadium.

 

Vitiny, who competed in women’s freestyle at the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016, posted: “I am very happy and honored to participate in the National Athletes Forum - to share my experience and to encourage preparations for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games to the young generation - to dare to dream and achieve their dreams.”

 

The event was also attended by representatives from the United States Embassy as well as partners supporting the journey of the Cambodian athletes on the road to LA28.

 

The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia posted: “Today is a reminder that sport is more than competition; it inspires friendship, respect, excellence and unity. 

 

“Together, we continue to strive for a stronger sporting future and proudly represent our nation with dedication and passion.”
