Hong Kong, China, June 28, 2026: The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China hosted the 2026 Olympic Day and Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Fun Run at Hong Kong Science Park on Sunday, June 28.
As one of the SF&OC’s annual flagship events, this year’s Olympic Day featured a special Asian Games Fun Run to build excitement ahead of the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya this September and rally public support for Hong Kong athletes competing in the Games.
Miss Rosanna Law, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Dr. Timothy Fok, President of SF&OC, officiated the event ceremony.
Dr. Fok said: “The Government has remained committed to advancing sports development through a five-pronged approach.
“The Olympic Day event aligns perfectly with two of the key policy objectives: promoting sports in the community and positioning Hong Kong as a centre for major sports events.
“Sports are not confined to athletes; everyone can take part. Likewise, the Olympic spirit extends beyond competitions and into daily lives, where each individual can embody the values of excellence, friendship and respect.”
This year’s event featured three categories: the 4km Individual Run, the 2km Family Fun Run and the special 2km Asian Games Fun Run.
The event also offered a variety of sports experiences, family-themed activities and game booths, attracting nearly 3 000 participants.
Echoing this year’s theme of “Running with Hong Kong Athletes”, Wong Lok Tung (triathlon) and Yeung Chung Hei (wushu), who earlier participated in the promotional video, also joined the Asian Games Fun Run and attended the ceremony.
In addition to today’s event, various National Sports Associations will host a series of community sports events and trial fun days from June to August, inviting the public to take part in diverse sporting activities and experience Olympic values firsthand.
SF&OC has organized Olympic Day annually since 1987 to commemorate the founding of the IOC and to promote the Olympic values within the community.
