Lausanne, Switzerland, June 27, 2026: The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) welcomed a delegation from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and representatives from the Government of Gujarat to its headquarters on June 23 for a constructive meeting focused on collaboration and future opportunities.
The delegation included Mr. Gagan Narang, IOA Vice President and Olympian; Shri Harikumar Murugavel, Director of Sports at the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports; Shri Harsh Sanghavi, Deputy Chief Minister of the State of Gujarat; Shri Rahul Gupta, Principal Secretary of the Sports, Youth & Cultural Activities Department of Gujarat; and Shri Ashwini Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Energy and Petrochemicals Department of Gujarat.
The delegates were welcomed by ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg. Representing ANOC during the meeting were Gustavo Harada, Emilie Robert and Andres Santi.
During the meeting, ANOC and the delegation exchanged updates on the current development and activities of the IOA, as well as ongoing initiatives across the Olympic Movement. Discussions also covered preparations for the ANOC General Assembly, which will be held in Hong Kong, China, in December 2026.
The meeting provided an opportunity to explore areas of mutual interest and identify potential opportunities for future collaboration. Both sides shared perspectives on how ANOC and the IOA can continue working together to support the development of sport and strengthen the work of National Olympic Committees.
