Kerala, India, June 22, 2026: The journey to the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games gathers momentum in Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) in Kerala with more than 40,000 participants expected to feature in the Asian Games Fun Run to coincide with International Olympic Day celebrations.
The Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha welcomed representatives from the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee (AINAGOC), Ms. Manami Okumura and Mr. Yoshiaki Taguchi, and Kerala Olympic Association President V. Sunil Kumar on the eve of the Fun Run on Monday, June 22.
“We are delighted to welcome AINAGOC members and the president of the Kerala Olympic Association to a celebration of friendship, sport, and the shared spirit of Asia as we look ahead to an unforgettable Asian Games 2026,” the IOA posted.
India’s Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya will visit Kerala on Tuesday, June 23, where he will participate in a series of events promoting fitness, sports excellence and mass participation in sport before taking part in the Asian Games Fun Run later in the day.
The Olympic Day celebrations are being organised to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of the Fit India Movement, an initiative to encourage people to adopt active and healthy lifestyles.
The events form part of the outreach activities leading up to the Asian Games 2026 Fun Run.
