Hong Kong, China, June 22, 2026: ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg led a small delegation to Hong Kong, China to review preparations for the XXVIII ANOC General Assembly, taking place in December 2026.

The visit was held in conjunction with the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China and the Local Organising Committee and confirmed that planning is progressing well.

More than 1,200 delegates from over 200 National Olympic Committees, alongside representatives from the IOC, International Federations and other key Olympic Movement stakeholders, will meet from December 7-10 for three days of strategic discussions, celebration and collaboration.

During the visit by the ANOC team, a letter of intent was signed with the BYD Company Limited, signalling a major new partnership for the General Assembly. This agreement will see BYD serve as Green Mobility Partner for the event and as a Diamond Partner for the ANOC Awards Ceremony.

The letter was signed at a ceremony at Olympic House, with SF&OC President Timothy Fok and Li Yunfei, General Manager of the Brand and Public Relations Division at BYD, signing in the presence of Lindberg.

The ANOC Secretary General said: “We came to Hong Kong with high expectations and left with even greater confidence. Preparations are advancing well across every area and the cooperation with the NOC, the LOC and local authorities continues to be excellent.

“Formalising the partnership with BYD was an important milestone, and its commitment to green and sustainable mobility is very much in keeping with the values we want this General Assembly to reflect. We look forward to welcoming the NOC family to Hong Kong in December.”

SF&OC President Timothy Fok added: “This week’s visit was another important step in our preparations.

“The partnership with BYD reflects the ambition we are bringing to this occasion. We are proud to have them alongside us as we build towards what will be a memorable General Assembly in December.”

ANOC has now opened registration for the General Assembly with formal invitations issued to all NOCs, with full event details included.

This latest visit from ANOC to Hong Kong took place at the end of May.
