Nagoya, Japan, June 22, 2026: In baseball-mad Japan, the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee is trying to turn the sporting public on to cricket.
In a social media post, AINAGOC is promoting cricket as a sport with “power, precision and endless possibilities” ahead of the 20th Asian Games from September 19 to October 4.
“Get ready for Cricket (T20) at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games,” the post says.
“With batters able to hit the ball in any direction and matches packed with explosive action, T20 is one of the fastest-paced and most exciting formats of the sport. Every ball can change the game.”
The cricket competition - for men and women - will take place at Aichi Prefectural Korogi Athletic Park, where cricketers from across Asia will battle for glory in this thrilling bat-and-ball contest.
“Experience the speed, strategy and atmosphere of cricket live at the Games,” AINAGOC adds.
