Seven new members enter Philippine Sports Hall of Fame

Manila, Philippines, June 22, 2026: History was made as the Philippine Sports Commission House proudly hosted the 5th Philippine Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, June 20. 

It was an unforgettable day dedicated to honoring the legacy, sacrifices and triumphs of the legendary Filipino icons who transformed the sporting landscape and brought immense pride to the nation.

"Sport is a great equalizer. It reminds us that greatness can come from anywhere. Your achievements are powerful because they have transformed the national imagination," said PSC Chairman Patrick C. Gregorio.

The seven inductees were:

*Adeline Dumapong-Ancheta (Para Powerlifting)

*Beatriz Lucero Lhuillier (Gymnastics and Taekwondo)

*Cecil Valdeavilla Mamiit (Tennis)

*Eduardo Alvir Pacheco (Basketball and Football)

*Isidro del Prado (Athletics)

*Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco Jr. (Boxing)

*Ramon Fernandez (Basketball)

An esteemed gathering of sports leaders — PSC Executive Board, National Sports Association Presidents and media partners witnessed the official enshrinement of seven sports legends. 

“Salute to our icons. Thank you for showing us that Filipino greatness knows no bounds,” the PSC posted.
