Thimphu, Bhutan, June 22, 2026: The Bhutan Olympic Committee is celebrating Olympic Day 2026 by hosting its Sports in Schools Programme throughout the country.
The BOC, in collaboration with the Department of Education Programmes, has held a series of events to celebrate the IOC's "Let’s Move" initiative which promotes young participants to play sport and be active.
“Rooted in the spirit of the Olympic Movement, the Sports in Schools Programme has grown into a vibrant sporting culture that continues to energise and inspire young lives across Bhutan,” the BOC posted.
“What began as an idea sparked through collaboration with the Department of Education Programmes of the Ministry of Education Skills and Development found strong encouragement and support from Olympic Solidarity turning vision into action,” the BOC added.
With the help of sponsors like TashiCell and Bhutan Airlines, the programme has made a huge impact on the ground and this year’s Olympic Day celebrations underlined its influence with schools across the Kingdom becoming involved.
