OCM flag flies on highest peak in southeast Asia to mark Olympic Day

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, June 22, 2026: In conjunction with the Olympic Day celebration, organised in collaboration with the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) on Sunday, June 21, NOC Malaysia achieved another historic milestone as its official flag was carried to the summit of Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Malaysia and Maritime Southeast Asia, located on the island of Borneo in Sabah.

 

This special initiative was undertaken by Justice Mohd Firuz Jaffril, Chair of the Legal Advisory, Rules and Discipline Committee of NOC Malaysia, together with his fellow Court of Appeal Judges, Justice Mohamed Zaini Mazlan, Justice Dr. Alwi Abdul Wahab and Justice Dean Wayne Daly.  The team successfully reached Low’s Peak of Mount Kinabalu at 8.54 am on Sunday, June 21.
