Amman, Jordan, June 18, 2026: His Royal Highness Prince Feisal Al Hussein, Founder and Chairman of Generations for Peace, has received the inaugural Count Jacques Rogge Prize in a ceremony at the City Hall in Ghent, Belgium.
The ceremony was attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Zeina Al Feisal, Her Royal Highness Princess Aisha bint Feisal, alongside Their Royal Highnesses Prince Laurent and Princess Louise of Belgium, amidst a notable presence of several diplomatic and sports figures from around the world.
Generations for Peace was chosen to be the first recipients of the award by a unanimous decision made by the jury members, recognising its pioneering approach in utilising sport as a fundamental pillar and primary driver for peacebuilding and conflict transformation.
In his acceptance speech, HRH Prince Feisal expressed his pride, stating: “Generations for Peace was launched from a deep belief that sport transcends the boundaries of competition to become a tool for positive change and healing.
“For nearly two decades, we have succeeded in leaving a sustainable impact on the lives of over 1.4 million people across 52 countries, and we remain committed to continuing this humanitarian journey, embodying the profound vision of what sport can offer to societies beyond the podiums.”
Generations for Peace was founded in Amman in 2007 and has become a global model in sustainable peacebuilding and empowering local youth leaders. Since its inception, it has successfully trained more than 30,000 young men and women worldwide, who in turn contributed to transferring this knowledge and expertise to their local communities, multiplying the organisation’s impact to reach millions of children and adults.
These efforts have received widespread international recognition, including official endorsement from the International Olympic Committee, and the organisation is currently ranked 24th among the top 200 non-governmental and social benefit organisations in the world.
