Gennadiy Golovkin inducted into International Boxing Hall of Fame

Astana, Kazakhstan, June 18, 2026: Gennadiy Golovkin, President of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan and President of World Boxing, was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, cementing his place among the sport’s all-time greats.

 

The induction ceremony took place in Canastota, New York on Monday, June 15, when Golovkin was officially welcomed into the Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026.

 

Elected in his first year of eligibility, Golovkin now joins a distinguished group of boxing icons that includes Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao.

 

The honour recognises a career that ranks among the most accomplished in modern boxing. As an amateur, Golovkin compiled a record of 345 wins from 350 bouts and also represented Kazakhstan at the highest international level.

 

As a professional, "GGG" established himself as one of the most dominant middleweight champions of the 21st century, compiling a record of 42 wins, two losses and one draw, with 37 victories coming by knockout.

 

He held world titles under the WBA, WBC, IBF and IBO organisations, as well as The Ring championship belt, and spent years among the sport’s leading pound-for-pound fighters.
