Manila, Philippines, June 17, 2026: The Philippine Olympic Committee has announced that the masterplan is officially coming together for the SEA Plus Youth Games in 2027 and Asian Beach Games Cebu 2028.
Key sports leaders convened at the Basilan Room of the EDSA Shangri-La on June 16 for a highly productive joint coordination meeting for the two major events.
“With our sights set on delivering two world-class hosting milestones, the agenda was packed with crucial milestones,” the POC wrote on social media. These included:
Strategic Alignment: Comprehensive updates and evaluations regarding the ongoing preparations for both major sporting events.
Passing the Torch: The official turnover of the Cebu ABG Organising Committee documents from POC President Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino to CABGOC CEO Ramon “Tats” Suzara.
The Next Big Milestone: Finalizing the blueprint and action plans for the highly anticipated SEAPYG Launch Ceremony scheduled for July 11.
“The groundwork continues as we prepare to showcase Philippine sports and hospitality to the rest of the world. Laban, Pilipinas! (Long live the Philippines),” the POC concluded.
