Thimphu, Bhutan, June 15, 2026: The Bhutan Olympic Committee has announced that it will compete in six sports at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games from September 19 to October 4.
The six sports are archery, athletics, boxing, judo, shooting and taekwondo.
One of the highlights in the squad is the selection of boxer Kinga Wangmo, whose journey to the Asian Games has been nothing short of remarkable. Wangmo, who will compete in the women’s 54 kg weight category, only took up the sport in 2021 during military training.
In just a few years she has emerged as one of Bhutan’s brightest talents winning a handful of gold medals in a number of regional competitions. Wangmo is one of three boxers in the Bhutan contingent.
