New Delhi, India, June 14, 2026: Two-time Asian Games medallist PV Sindhu and India’s top-ranked men’s singles player Lakshya Sen will headline a strong Indian badminton squad at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.

A press release from the Badminton Association of India on Saturday, June 13, unveiled the country’s 20-strong badminton squad (10 men and 10 women) for the September 19 to October 4 continental showpiece.

Lakshya Sen leads the men’s squad which also features Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games men’s doubles gold medallists Satwiksairaj Reddy and Chirag Shetty and the experienced H.S. Pranoy and Kidambi Srikanth, who were part of the men’s team silver medal-winning campaign in Hangzhou.

The consistent Sindhu and Unnati Hooda will spearhead India’s bid for glory in the women’s singles while women’s doubles pair Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will continue to anchor India’s doubles challenge in Japan.

BAI Secretary General Sanjay Mishra said the squad was a mix of established stars and emerging players.

“Indian badminton today is in a position where success is being shaped not just by individual excellence, but by the growing depth of talent across categories. We believe this squad has the quality and character to compete strongly at the Asian Games and make the country proud,” Mishra said.

The Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games was India’s most successful badminton campaign, yielding one gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
