Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, June 11, 2026: The President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee, Battushig Batbold, held a meeting with the athletes who have qualified for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
The young athletes were accompanied by their coaches and by representatives of their national sports federations.
“So far, Mongolia has secured 10 athlete quotas across six sports, and I am proud to see the next generation of Mongolian athletes preparing to represent our country on the world stage,” Battushig said.
“The Youth Olympic Games are more than a competition; they are an opportunity for young people to dream bigger, gain international experience and build friendships that transcend borders.
“As Africa prepares to host its first-ever Olympic sporting event, Dakar 2026 will be a historic milestone for the Olympic Movement and for young athletes around the world.
“To all our qualified athletes and those still pursuing qualification, continue to work hard, believe in yourselves and enjoy the journey. Mongolia is proud of you,” added the IOC Member.
