Bangladesh NOC holds colourful Fun Run in Dhaka for 20th Asian Games

Dhaka, Bangladesh, June 10, 2026: The Bangladesh Olympic Association held a colourful celebration for the 20th Asian Games Fun Run in the capital Dhaka on Wednesday, June 10.

 

The BOA’s Vice President Major Imroz Ahmed (retd.) inaugurated the Fun Run, which was held in conjunction with the Olympic Council of Asia and the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee.

 

Over 200 athletes, students, representatives from national sports federations and well-wishers participated in the event, which got underway at 7.30am.

 

Athletes and officials from 23 national sports federations who will participate at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games were the centrepiece of the Fun Run, which was aimed at spreading the message of peace and friendship throughout the region.

 

The Fun Run rally began from the Bangladesh Shishu Academy and ended at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium. Senior officials of the BOA, Ministry of Youth and Sport and National Sports Council also participated.

 

The OCA was represented by the Director of Media & Broadcast, Jeans Zhou Jian, and AINAGOC by Senior Manager Toshikazu Honjo.

 

All participants received certificates and T-shirts from the BOA, OCA and AINAGOC. In addition to the rally, a number of sports held demonstrations at the Indoor Stadium bringing a festive mood to the event.

 

At the closing ceremony, Bangladeshi archer Sagar Islam and shooter Nilufa Yasmin shared their dreams and aspirations for the forthcoming continental showpiece.

 

The 20th Asian Games in Japan will take place from September 19-October 4 and will feature 43 sports, 71 disciplines and 469 events.
