Nine teams secure spots in Identity V Asian Games Version at 2026 Asian Games

Singapore, June 1, 2026: The qualifiers for the Identity V Asian Games Version esports competition concluded at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore, with nine teams punching their tickets to the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, set to take place from September 19 to October 4.

 

The teams advancing to the 2026 Asian Games are China, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Vietnam. Host nation Japan has already secured its direct qualification spot.

 

The three-day qualifiers kicked off on May 30 and brought together 101 esports athletes and 15 coaches from 16 countries and regions, who contested a total of 35 group stage matches for the nine spots.

 

The qualifiers adopted a group round-robin format. Sixteen teams were divided into three groups, and all matches were played in a best-of-three (BO3) format. According to the rules, the top three teams from each group advance directly.

 

Malaysia (Group A), Chinese Taipei (Group B) and China (Group C) all finished top of their respective groups with flawless records.

 

The Identity V Asian Games Version, developed and globally published by NetEase Games, will be one of the 11 official esports medal titles at the 2026 Asian Games, which is the first asymmetrical competitive mobile game to be included in a continental multi-sport event.

 

The Identity V Asian Games Version will use a dedicated version based on the Chinese mainland server version as of November 13, 2025. This version features playable characters of 49 Survivors and 32 Hunters, along with a total of 8 maps.
