KSOC President Ryu highlights ‘leadership, wisdom’ of Raja Randhir Singh

Seoul, Korea, May 28, 2026: The President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, Ryu Seung-min, says Raja Randhir Singh made “an exceptional contribution” to the Olympic sports movement.

In a letter dated May 28 to the OCA President, HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the KSOC President writes: “It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of IOC Honorary Member, Honorary Life President of the Olympic Council of Asia and former OCA President, Raja Randhir Singh. 

“Raja Randhir Singh dedicated his life to the Olympic Movement and to the advancement of sport throughout Asia and around the world. Through his distinguished leadership, including his service to the IOC and the OCA, he made an exceptional contribution to the development of the Olympic Movement, the promotion of Olympic values, and the strengthening of solidarity within the sporting community. 

“His leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to sport will be remembered with great respect and admiration by the entire Olympic Family.

“On behalf of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, and in my own name, I would like to convey our deepest condolences to his family, the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia, and the entire Olympic Family on this great loss. May he rest in peace.”
