Lahore, Pakistan, May 31, 2026: The Pakistan Olympic Association hosted a media briefing at POA House on Sunday ahead of the OCA Fun Run for the 20th Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026.
The briefing was attended by POA President Mr. Arif Saeed, POA Secretary General Mr. Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, representatives of the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Organizing Committee Mr. Hiroshi Sakai and Ms. Azusa Dodo, OCA delegates Mr. Anthony Al Tahech and Mr. Zahid Hafeez and members of the media and top management of POA.
Officials highlighted the OCA Fun Run as a celebration of the values that underpin the Olympic and Asian sporting movements, including friendship, unity, excellence and healthy living. The initiative aims to engage athletes, students, sports leaders, families and communities across Asia while building excitement and awareness for the forthcoming Asian Games.
Scheduled to be held in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya City from September 19 to October 4, the 20th Asian Games will bring together Asia’s finest athletes on the continent’s premier sporting stage. The Games will celebrate sporting excellence while fostering friendship, cultural exchange and greater understanding among nations across Asia.
Responding to questions from journalists, the delegates appreciated the progress made in preparation for the Fun Run and noted the collaborative efforts of the Olympic Family and partner organizations.
They specifically commended the painting competition organized by the POA and the interest of the youth towards the Asian Games through artwork. Out of 156 artworks received, four have been shortlisted by a committee including the foreign delegates and will be forwarded to the Organizing Committee of the Asian Games 2026 to be displayed during the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games
Addressing the progress of preparations for the Games, representatives of the Organizing Committee and the OCA stated that planning continued to advance steadily in close coordination with relevant stakeholders. They reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a world-class event and acknowledged the valuable support of National Olympic Committees across Asia in the lead-up to Aichi–Nagoya 2026. The delegation also thanked the Pakistan Olympic Association for their warm welcome.
The OCA Fun Run celebrations will continue on June 1 at Lahore College for Women University, Jail Road Lahore, from 4pm to 6.30pm. The event will bring together athletes, students, sports leaders, dignitaries and members of the public in a shared celebration of the values of friendship, excellence and respect that unite the Olympic and Asian sporting communities.
