Lausanne, Switzerland, May 29, 2026: The President of World Gymnastics, Morinari Watanabe, has written to the OCA President, His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, to extend deepest condolences on the passing of Raja Randhir Singh.
“His lifelong dedication to the Olympic Movement and his outstanding contribution to the development of sport in Asia and around the world will always be remembered with great respect and admiration.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Asian Olympic family, as well as with his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.”
The letter, dated May 29, is signed by Morinari Watanabe, World Gymnastics President and IOC Member, and by Nicolas Buompane, World Gymnastics Secretary General. It is addressed to the OCA President and OCA Director General Husain Al Musallam.
