Kazakhstan NOC President recalls ‘warmth, sincerity and personal integrity’ of Raja Randhir

Astana, Kazakhstan, May 28, 2026: The President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gennadiy Golovkin, and Secretary General Alimzhan Akayev have written to the OCA President, HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, and Director General Husain Al Musallam to pay tribute to Raja Randhir Singh.

“The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of IOC Honorary Member and Honorary Life President of the Olympic Council of Asia, Raja Randhir Singh.

“Mr. Singh devoted his entire life to the development of sport and the Olympic Movement. Throughout many decades of distinguished service, he played a significant role in strengthening Asian sport, promoting Olympic values and supporting cooperation and solidarity among the National Olympic Committees of the continent.

“His leadership, wisdom and unwavering dedication earned him great respect across the Olympic community. He will be remembered not only for his contribution to the development of the Olympic Movement in Asia, but also for his warmth, sincerity and personal integrity.

“On behalf of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, we extend our sincere condolences to the Olympic Council of Asia, as well as to the family, friends and colleagues of Raja Randhir Singh.”
