New Delhi, India, May 28, 2026: PT Usha, President of the Indian Olympic Association, has paid a heartfelt tribute to former OCA President and OCA Honorary Life President Raja Randhir Singh describing him as an “extraordinary human.”
Posting on X, the IOA President stated: “My heart fills with sadness on the passing away of Shri Raja Randhir Singh ji, a dear friend and an extraordinary human who took India to new heights in sports in Asia and around the world.
“We have lost an exceptional leader and his irreplaceable wisdom. Rest in Peace Raja Saheb,” Usha added.
The Indian Olympic Association also posted on social media: “The IOA is deeply saddened by the passing of Raja Randhir Singh, former Honorary Secretary-General of the Indian Olympic Association, Honorary Life President of the OCA, Honorary Member of the International Olympic Committee, and former President of the OCA.
“His legacy within the Olympic movement and his unswerving service to athletes and the sporting fraternity will continue to guide everyone. The IOA extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Olympic family.”
Randhir Singh passed away on Wednesday, May 27. He was 79.
