IOA congratulates ‘fastest Indian’ Gurindervir Singh

New Delhi, India, May 26, 2026: The Indian Olympic Association has hailed India’s fastest man Gurindervir Singh for setting a new national record in the men’s 100 metres.

 

“Fastest Indian,” posted the IOA on social media. “Incredible run for Gurindervir Singh as he smashes the National Record with a 100m sprint in 10.09 seconds. Here’s to many more records and medals in the journey ahead.”

 

Gurindervir Singh became the first Indian to dip below 10.10 seconds, achieving the landmark at the National Senior Athletics Federation Championships at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Morabadi.

 

His 10.09 run also allowed him to qualify for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow later this year.
