More than 500 students join Children’s Olympic Day in Lang Son

Lang Son, Vietnam, May 24, 2026: More than 500 secondary school students took part in the 2026 Children’s Olympic Day held in Lang Son city, creating a vibrant atmosphere in celebration of sport, health and Olympic values.

The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam Olympic Committee and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son Province under the annual activity program of the IOC.

Students from schools in Luong Van Tri, Dong Kinh, Tam Thanh and Ky Lua wards participated in the activities.

As part of the program, students joined exchange sessions and educational activities introducing the Olympic Movement, Vietnamese sports and the development of sports in Lang Son Province. The activities provided an opportunity for students to better understand the history and significance of the Olympic Movement as well as the achievements of Vietnamese and local sports.

A highlight of the event was the 1km fun run around the city. After completing the run, participants received commemorative medals from the organizing committee.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Duong Minh Tue, Vice Director of Lang Son Culture, Sport and Tourism Department, said: “Every step taken today not only reflects the spirit of staying healthy for study, recreation and contributing to the homeland but also sends a positive message about a young generation that is dynamic, united, confident and full of aspiration.”

This year’s Children’s Olympic Day was organized to mark the 132nd anniversary of the founding of the IOC on June 23, 1894 while continuing to promote the Olympic motto “Faster - Higher - Stronger - Together.”

According to the organizers, the program aims to inspire students to engage more actively in sports and physical exercise, while fostering discipline, perseverance, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle among Vietnam’s young generation.
