Nagoya, Japan, May 20, 2026: One of the rights-holding broadcasters represented at the second World Broadcasters Meeting for the 20th Asian Games was ELTA.tv from Taipei.
Founder and Chairwoman Sally Chen led a three-strong delegation which also comprised Winnie Chiang (EVP – Employee Value Proposition & CCO - Chief Commercial Officer) and Jenny Sung (Deputy Director of Sports Channel, Channel Operation Department).
Aichi-Nagoya will be ELTA’s fifth Asian Games, having started at Guangzhou 2010, and they have also covered five Olympic Games, beginning at Beijing 2008.
“We have a lot of broadcasting experience at the Asian Games and Olympic Games, but I feel Aichi-Nagoya will be a bit different,” said Sally Chen, during the venue tour on Wednesday, May 20.
“It seems like they are not just focusing on sports competitions but also they want to show Japanese culture and tourism.”
The 20th Asian Games will be held from September 19 to October 4 and feature 43 sports, 70 disciplines and 468 events; competition venues will be as far afield as Tokyo, Osaka and Shizuoka, as well as throughout Nagoya City and Aichi Prefecture.
“It will be a challenge to combine all the athletes and teams together and connect all the venues, but, as always in Japan, I think everything is no problem in the end,” Sally added.
ELTA named baseball, badminton, table tennis and boxing among the most popular sports back home – and hope their coverage will grip the attention of sports fans during the Asian Games.
The venue tour on Wednesday took in the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Rugby Field, which will stage rugby sevens and football, the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium for the opening and closing ceremony and the athletics competition, and the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium for badminton.
