Nagoya, Japan, May 20, 2026: The main stadium for the 20th Asian Games was the main focus of attention during a venue tour on the second day of the second World Broadcasters Meeting in Nagoya on Wednesday, May 20.
The refurbished Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium sparkled in the morning sunshine and put everyone in the mood for the Asian Games, which will take place from September 19 to October 4.
The Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium will host the opening ceremony and closing ceremony as well as the athletics competition.
The venue tour began, however, just across the road at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Rugby Field, which will host rugby sevens and also some football matches.
The tour was laid on for the host broadcaster, Shanghai-based CMG-IMP, and organising committee AINAGOC to outline the plans, services and facilities for the rights-holding broadcasters.
This involved fixed camera positions for live broadcast, positions for hand-held cameras, or ENG (electronic news gathering), commentary positions in the stands and areas designated for the mixed zone, where broadcasters and the press have direct access to players immediately after competition.
The tour continued with a visit to the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium, which will stage the badminton events during the Asian Games.
*The second World Broadcasters Meeting ended with a series of one-on-one meetings at Port Messe Nagoya – location for the Main Media Centre.
*The second World Press Briefing will begin on Thursday, May 21 and also run for two days.
