Belgrade, Serbia, May 19, 2026: Representatives of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan met with officials from the Olympic Committee of Serbia and the Serbian Ministry of Sport in Belgrade on Monday, May 18, to discuss bilateral sports cooperation.
The Kazakhstan delegation was led by NOC President Gennadiy Golovkin and Secretary General Alimzhan Akayev. Serbia was represented by Minister of Sport Zoran Gajic and NOC President Dejan Tomasevic.
Both sides discussed preparations for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games as well as youth sport development, athlete support systems, sports medicine, and recovery programmes.
NOC Kazakhstan shared its experience in Olympic Solidarity programmes, sports management education, and initiatives aimed at developing professional expertise and promoting equal opportunities in sport.
The discussion also covered international cooperation, major sporting events, and sports diplomacy. Serbian official highlighted the country’s experience in hosting European and World Championships, along with ongoing efforts to develop sports infrastructure and attract future international competitions.
Drawing on Kazakhstan’s experience in hosting EXPO 2017 in Astana, the delegations expressed interest in exchanging expertise on infrastructure planning and the organisation of large-scale international events.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their interest in strengthening cooperation between the NOCs of Kazakhstan and Serbia and developing joint initiatives in Olympic sports.
