New Delhi, India, May 14, 2026: The Indian Olympic Association has congratulated the Indian women’s recurve team for winning the gold medal at the Archery World Cup 2026 in Shanghai on Sunday, May 10.
“Some brilliant performances from our archers at the Shanghai Archery World Cup. Congratulations to our Women’s Recurve Team of Deepkia Kumari, Ankita Bhakat and Kumkum Mohod on winning the gold against home favourites China, and beating top seeds and 10-time Olympic Champions South Korea in the semis,” the IOA posted.
The fourth-seeded Indian trio, up against a young second-seeded Chinese team of Zhu Jingyi, Huang Yuwei and Yu Qi, won a shoot-off 28-26 after both sides were level at 4-4 at the end of four sets.
In the semi-finals, India defeated Korea 5-1.
The IOA also congratulated Sahil Jadhav who won his maiden World Cup medal with a bronze in the Men’s Compound event.
