Manila, Philippines, May 12, 2026: To ensure the seamless and world-class hosting of the 2027 SEA Plus Youth Games and the 7th Asian Beach Games in 2028, the Philippine Olympic Committee, in partnership with the government’s Philippine Sports Commission, convened for their first joint coordination meeting.
During the session, SEAPYG and Cebu ABG Chief Executive Officer Ramon “Tats” Suzara briefed the various National Sports Associations, media representatives and key sports officials on the strategic blueprint and operational implementation for these two momentous sporting events.
These upcoming hosting campaigns represent massive milestones for Philippine sports. The 2027 SEAPYG—a visionary brainchild of POC President Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino—will be the inaugural staging of the regional youth competition.
Meanwhile, the 2028 Cebu Asian Beach Games marks the historic return of an Olympic Council of Asia event to Philippine shores for the first time since the country hosted the 1954 Asian Games.
Joining Suzara at the presidential table were Don Z. Caringal (Director General for Asian Beach Games), Jarryd Bello (Director General for SEAPYG), Miss Loujaye Sonido, the PSC Chief of Staff, and Atty Guillermo Iroy, PSC’s OIC-Executive Director and long-serving Deputy Executive Director.
The SEA Plus Youth Games will take place in Manila, Tagaytay and Clark in December 2027 and the Asian Beach Games in March 2028 in Cebu.
